Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for crisis funding?

Applications for crisis funding through the Painted Project are submitted online. Please visit painted.co/pages/crisis-funding-application to complete your application. Unfortunately, due to the volume of enquiries, we are unable to accept applications via email or social media.

I live outside of the US. Can I still apply?

At this stage, the crisis funding program is only open to residents of the United States. This is due to the complex legal and regulatory requirements that apply to this charitable initiative. We hope to expand the program in the future, so please continue to follow our journey for updates. We sincerely hope you're able to find local support in the meantime.

Do I need to attach supporting documents to my application?

We understand that not every situation comes with formal documentation, and that's okay. We ask that you upload whatever supporting materials you have available, even if that is simply a blank page to fulfil the upload requirement. The more context you're able to provide, the better placed our team will be to make a fair and informed decision, so please share whatever feels comfortable and relevant to your situation.

What file formats are accepted for attachments?

Attachments must be uploaded in one of the following formats: JPG, PNG, or PDF. Please ensure your documents are saved in one of these formats before beginning your application.

Can I update or add to my application after I've submitted it?

Unfortunately, once your application has been submitted it cannot be updated or amended. We encourage you to take your time and wait until you have gathered all relevant information before you begin, so that your application reflects your situation as fully as possible.

I experienced a technical issue while completing my application. What should I do?

We're sorry to hear you've run into difficulties. We've received a large volume of applications in a short period of time and are aware that some people have experienced technical issues. At this stage, refreshing the page is the only way to reset the form, however please be aware that this will clear any progress you have made. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience in sharing something so personal.

How do I know if my application was received?

Once your application has been submitted successfully, you will receive an automated confirmation email from the Painted Project. If you have not received this email, please check your spam or junk folder. Please note that receipt of a confirmation does not guarantee funding, due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unfortunately unable to support everyone. Applicants who are successful will be contacted directly by our team.

Can I just share my story directly with you instead of filling in the application?

We truly appreciate you trusting us with your story, and we don't take that lightly. However, to ensure every request is reviewed fairly and consistently, we are only able to consider applications submitted through the official application form. Please visit painted.co/pages/crisis-funding-application to apply. This ensures your situation receives the proper consideration it deserves.

What is the Community Partnerships program and when does it open?

Community Partnerships is the next phase of the Painted Project, designed to support local organisations across the US with charitable status that are making a real impact in their communities. We're looking for organisations that need financial assistance and/or other resources focused on impact, not administration. Applications will be opening later this year. Follow us on Instagram & TikTok and keep an eye on our website so you don't miss the announcement.

What is the Scholarships program and when does it open?

The Scholarships program is the third phase of the Painted Project, created to support individuals pursuing careers in the creative industry. We're still working on the details and can't wait to share more soon. Follow us on Instagram & TikTok and keep an eye on our website for updates throughout the year.
